For a long time I found myself to be stereo-typical. After all; where did the stereotypes come from if they were not true? There must have been some truth to them. And surprisingly enough there is, for every race. For awhile I thought, that’s just how they are. But I was very wrong. I found myself questioning this after the realization that stereotypes did fit everyone of that race. How could one black man be a gangster and another a college professor? Simple, by having will, and opportunity. People are not born ignorant, violent, lazy, unproductive members of society, they are taught and learn from people and things around them. You can give someone will by giving them positive influences, education, and a safe environment. Thus creating a better sate, (when I say I mean the United States as a whole.). By having more people educated and gainfully employed the advances in our state would be possibly outmatch that or other countries. Instead of spending money on welfare it can got to science, medicine, schooling, communities, and alternative fuel source research.
Education is the Key! We can go nowhere without education, it is what propels today’s modern society. How can someone of a poorer background expect to compete with college grads? Their lack of income alienates them, forces them into lesser jobs as a lower workers. It also makes getting a good education harder. And the sins of the father reflect on the son. If the father is poor and uneducated how can his son hope to be better? Granted some break the cycle but not all. And it can only get worse without change, without getting them help I believe most of the population will fall into ignorance; and digress away from better things, and America will fall from its former glory.
Community is the next major thing, goes hand in hand with environment. Dilapidated houses are no place to raise children. This to causes crime, poor security, and unsafe environments allow for an increase in crime. Children should have safe neighborhoods, with playgrounds and recreational areas. And they should be encouraged to go out and take advantage of these recreational areas. Plus this new neighborhood and its perks would have to be monitored, and maintained, thus creating jobs.
I believe we must take from welfare to pay for free education, and the creation and upkeep of our community’s. Welfare is being abused by citizens when it should be used for its intended purpose to help you and your families get necessities and not convenient t items. We should also take away from unemployment checks. Instead send them to the free schools. They can become educated and get a good job instead of missing out and making excuses as to why their unemployed. There should also be daycares and health education programs set up. Helping parents out to get back on their feet. All of of this should be paid for by the government, and should charge the people little or nothing.
It may seem that this is impossible, and too costly. But the benefits far out way the costs. For a little amount of money you would be getting a whole new world, a world of educated hard working individuals who benefit our state. Advance us in our technology, advance us as a people. We could become wealthier than other countries, allowing us to pay back the debt that America owes. We’d have low crime rates, making America a safe place to live. Finally we’d have low unemployment rates making the U.S a prosperous optimistic place to live.
People are like pieces of paper, when your born your blank its life the writes on you defines you makes you who you are. By trying the proposed idea you can make sure that life writes one good things about everyone, regardless of the race, gender or creed.

It’s a very idealistic view you have painted. No one will argue that. People want their taxes to be spent on education, science, music, just generally on things that make humanity better as a whole. However it doesn’t happen because of the representative democracy that we live in. We pick someone to represent us and our ideals and then those people choose what our money goes. To even begin to fix and change this problem you have to start with the underlining structure that holds our government together. Corruption runs deep throughout all politics because corporations run America now, not the people. Our forefathers never signed the declaration with the idea that massive drug companies, food companies, insurance firms, oil industries would buyout our leaders. When they are bought our money no longer goes to where we want it to, but to where the corporations want it to. We need to begin there to start to unravel this mess we have created for ourselves.
ReplyDeleteSome other points I did want to make, if everyone has a great education and isn’t forced into the lesser or lower jobs than who would do them? Immigrants, poverty-stricken, and the undereducated do them now. There will always be someone who will have to do the dirty jobs that no one else wants. Also for your statement “welfare is being abused”, that is actually a misconception. Most people don’t stay on welfare for longer than 2-3 years.
The part where you will lose most people is where you state that “this may seem too costly”. People don’t want their taxes raised yet they expect better healthcare, better public transportation, a stronger military, better schools, better everything. None of this can come without sacrificing money. The people who have it lose are the rich, and the rich are the ones who run the corporations who pay off the government.
Interestingly the concept of tabula rasa raised in your final paragraph is a philosophy not an actual fact. Think of the longstanding Nature vs. Nurture debate.
I enjoyed your post, however you will want to check your spelling and grammar.
